Frances Rita White

Frances Rita White passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Fran was born in New Britain, CT where she lived until she married Bryce E. White Jr. They made their home and raised their children Kathleen and Bryce III in Farmington, CT.

A graduate of St. Francis College of Nursing in Hartford, CT, Fran was a registered nurse at St Francis and New Britain General hospitals. Early in her career, Fran was selected from a group of many nurses to enroll in the New Britain General Hospital School of Anesthesiology. After graduating, Fran practiced as an Anesthetist for the remainder of her 39-year long career.

Upon retirement in 1991, Bryce and Fran moved alongside life-long friends to South Chatham, where they quickly made many more wonderful friends. Fran was a very active member of the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary, F.I.S.H., Chatham Newcomers, Chatham Walkers, and Juliets. Fran was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge and golfing at Seaside Links. More than anything else, Fran loved her family. Her 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren were the light of her life. She cherished the times when family came to stay for vacation and when her grandchildren lived with her and Bryce during the summers of their college years.

Fran was predeceased by her husband Bryce E White Jr and is survived by her daughter Kathleen Gatzuras and her husband Jack of South Chatham, MA, her son Bryce E White III and his wife Christina of Avon, CT. She was the grandmother of five grandchildren: Jessica Natale and her husband Michael from Weymouth, MA, Brianna White of West Hartford, CT, Alicia Schlicher and her husband Daniel of Braintree, MA, Adam Gatzuras and his wife Lauren of West Hartford, CT and Dylan White and his fiancée Britanny Place of Providence, RI. She also leaves four great grandchildren, Quinn and Hugh Schlicher and Olivia and Emma Natale.

A Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church in Chatham on July 22 at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary Chatham/Harwich branch.
