JoAnn G. Pratt, 84, of Chatham, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Jean Gordon and Hillard Gordon of Chatham. She is survived by her husband Kenneth “Herb” Pratt, Jr. of Chatham, her brother Hillard Gordon, Jr. and wife Marcella of St. Louis MO, her daughters Teri Pratt-Masson and husband Tom of Centerville, Sharon Bidwell and husband Howard of Yarmouth, Lorri Pratt of Salem OR, her son Kenneth H Pratt III and wife Beth of Chatham, five grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. She devoted her life and love to her family and many others.

JoAnn was born in Patchogue NY, and moved to the Cape with her family in 1942, where she considered herself to be a life-long resident of her beloved Chatham. She graduated Chatham High School in 1952, married Herb, and they nurtured a family together. Joann started her own business, “Accent on Kitchens” in 1987, designing award winning kitchens in Chatham and nearby towns until she retired in 2011. She loved design, art, and balance; always seeking to create beauty with her unique touch. With her husband, she designed and built three homes and renovated others in Chatham. She was instrumental, along with many family members, in building the family Camp on North Beach, which was lost in the “Perfect Storm” of 1991. She also created a winter ski getaway in Campton, NH for all to enjoy.

JoAnn loved to paint, to entertain friends and family, going to the Symphony and the Ballet, walking on the many beaches she loved to visit, traveling to Europe and cherished her many pets. She was a very generous and spiritual individual, following the teachings of “A Course in Miracles".

Visitation will be held 10 am – 12 pm on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Nickerson Funeral Home in Chatham. A Memorial Service will follow and a private burial will occur at Seaside Cemetery.

Beautiful JoAnn, I am so sorry that you were ill and I did not know. We go back such a long time and those years I think of with happiness. May you have a peaceful rest now that your work on this earth is done.
Much sympathy to the family. JoAnn was a classy lady.
