

Karen Ann Boyd, 76, of Yarmouth Port, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025. Born in Amsterdam, New York, Karen was the daughter of James A. Miller, Sr. and Rena Frederick Dersch. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family and carried that love throughout her life.
Karen graduated from Perth Central School in 1967. In 1971, she moved to the Town of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, where she raised her family, worked, volunteered, and built many lasting friendships. She enjoyed spending time with those she loved most and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Over the years, she enjoyed bowling, racquetball, and bingo, and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Karen’s smile, beauty, and humor could light up any room. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, laughter, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristen A. Boyd and fiancé Dwayne Campbell; her son, Michael J. Boyd and his wife, Angela; her sisters, Joan (“Chick”) Simeone, Susan Lee Miller (Ron Davis), and Gail (John) Carusone; her grandchildren, Daniel T. Smith, Emily N. Ford, Bryan M. Higgins, Abby E. Higgins, Jack M. Boyd, and Jocelyn D. Boyd; her great-granddaughter, Parker; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her longtime dear friend, Cheryl Niemi.
She was predeceased by her parents; her son, Bryan J. Boyd; her sister, Carol Phillips; her brother, James A. Miller, Jr.; and her sister, Barbara Tautznik, who passed away shortly after her.
Karen leaves behind many cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held on May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 329 Route 6A, Yarmouth Port, MA 02675.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity in Karen’s memory, reflecting her lifelong generosity and support of many organizations throughout the years.
