Born to Ann and Edgar Cotreau, Larry was one of seven children. He devotedly worked all his life – as a member of the New England Carpenter’s Union; as a volunteer for the Poor Clare Order in West Roxbury, MA; as a loving caregiver for his mother and then his sister. He retired to the Cape, joined the Appalachian Mountain Club and met the love of his life, Ann Hamilton, on the hiking trails. They married in 1994 and were together for twenty three years.
Following Ann’s death in 2017, Larry moved to The Victorian Assisted Living. Lured in by the three meals a day, he was a trivia sensation and a kind and caring member of the community. Larry was a United States Army Veteran. He will be missed.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Cape, 468 Stony Brook Road, Brewster, MA. A luncheon will be held for family and friends immediately following at 400 East Restaurant, 1421 Orleans Road (Rt 39), East Harwich, MA. The family will hold a private burial at Quivet Neck Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Appalachian Mountain Club, your favorite National Park or the Alzheimer’s Association.
