Patrick, the youngest son of Ellen and John Gillis of Chatham, leaves behind his brothers, Ryan Gillis (wife, Leah) and Chris Gillis (wife, Jessica) and his niece and goddaughter, Rylie Gillis. He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Adolphus and Helen Gillis and Peter and Elizabeth Daley.
Patrick grew up in Duxbury, MA and graduated from Duxbury High School in 1995. An active athlete, he was part of teams that won state championships in soccer and golf. He later attended Wheaton College, where he captained the soccer team.
Patrick spent twenty years working in the financial services industry. His career took him from Albuquerque, NM to San Diego, CA and ultimately to Boston, MA where he spent a large part of his career at Mellon Financial. He most recently worked in the golf industry. A natural home for his greatest passion.
Patrick was a gifted golfer and long-time member of various prominent New England Clubs. His love of the game took him to courses across the U.S. and as far as Ireland. He most recently attended the Masters, a golfer’s dream.
Music was another constant in his life. He never turned down the chance to see a live show. Whether it was reggae, rock and roll or anything in between. He even spent some time as a DJ and had recently picked up the guitar again. Pat walked to his own rhythm and danced his way through life.
Patrick will be deeply missed but his vibrant spirit, generous heart and infectious smile will live on with those who knew and loved him. Love you, Patrick.

Visitation will be held at the Nickerson Funeral Home on November 7 from 12-4pm at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Rd in Chatham, MA.
