Booper served his country as a Marine and was honorably discharged in 1962. Later that year he became a Needham Firefighter where he worked for 42 years. He was a longtime resident of Needham, President of the Needham Firefighters Union, a Boy Scout Leader, and worked tirelessly to develop the town mini bike program. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; fishing brought him to Chatham in 1975, where he retired in 2003.
Booper is survived by his beloved wife Ann of 62 years, and their sons and wives: Robert and Lianne (Cody), Jeffrey and Carolyn (Geagan) and Christopher and Tabitha (Kimball), and 5 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
