Dorris Patricia Caffey Forbes

Patricia “Trisha” Caffey Forbes, a longtime resident of Millry, AL, born in Duck Hill, MS, died at her home on Friday, January 9, 2015. She was a young 78. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorris Taylor Caffey and Thomas Patrick Caffey of Ozark, AL. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Robert Forbes. Three children: Laura L. Forbes of New York City, NY, Jamie McRae of Waynesboro, MS and Ann F. Sirmon (Danny) of Mobile, AL. Four grandchildren: Jennifer Colburn (Brandon), Kristin Williams, Forbes Sirmon and Katie McRae. One great-grandchild: Stella Colburn. Three brothers: Dr. Thomas Patrick Caffey, Jr. of La Jolla, CA, Dr. Taylor D. Caffey of Ozark, AL and Dr. Fred B. Caffey of Martinsville, VA. While living in Mississippi, Trisha volunteered with the Junior Auxiliary, United Methodist Women and served on the committee to develop the Special Education Reform for the State of Mississippi. In Millry, Trisha volunteered on several committees, in the Chatom area, with the United Way of Southwest Alabama and played piano and sang in the choir at Chatom United Methodist Church. Additionally, for the church, she served on many committees as well as a lay delegate to the annual conference for the Alabama/West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. Trisha loved the arts, singing, and playing the piano. Additionally, she enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling to many destinations around the globe. A celebration of her life will be held at Chatom United Methodist Church on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM CT at Chatom United Methodist Church. The Reverend Holly Morales will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM CT at the church.
