Bill Clabough

Billy “Bill” Joe Clabough, 92, a resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on May 27, 2026. Born on November 4, 1933, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Bill was the son of the late Otha and Lena Clabough.

He was a graduate of the Consumer Banking School at the University of Virginia.

Bill served his country as an Army veteran, a commitment that reflected a steady sense of duty and quiet strength. He also built a respected career in banking, serving as a branch manager at American National/ Suntrust Bank and earning the trust of those he worked with through dependable leadership and sound judgment.

He was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church for over 62 years, where he served as a trustee. Bill was an active member of the Jaycees, Sertoma Club and North River Kiwanis. He also volunteered with Special Olympics and coached softball at East Brainerd Youth Association.

His parents, great-grandson, Hunter Lee, siblings, Carson Clabough, Max Clabough, Gene Clabough, Melvia Knott, Peggy Walker and Sue McMillan preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Annette Clabough, and children, Jack Clabough (Gayle), Jill Brown (Richard) and Carol Jackson, grandchildren, Mark Lee (Ranata), Amy Sellers, Alyssa Brown, Marie Riley (Kyle), Erin Stalvey (Nick), Chris Jackson (Lily), great-grandchildren, Hudson Riley, Carson Riley and Everest Stalvey and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Monday, June 8, 2026, in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A graveside service will take place at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
