

Bonnie Jean Long, age 86, of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in her home. Her husband of 64 years, Charles Long, preceded her in death this past April. She was born August 31, 1930, in McMinn County, Tennessee, as the fourth child of the late Frank and Winona Blevins.
Her service as a Registered Nurse, specializing in Labor and Delivery and becoming a Lamaze Instructor was a source of great joy. Her career spanned over forty years, and she worked in Chattanooga and Georgia.
Mrs. Long was a member of and attended Christ United Methodist Church.
Her brother, Argile Blevins and sister, Jewell Womac preceded her in death.
Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Ann Long Adams of Chattanooga, Pamela Jean Long of St. Louis, Mo, and one son, James Charles (Andrea) Long of Chicago, Illinois; five grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Robertson of Jackson, Tennessee, Bryan "Chaz" Long of Chicago, Illinois, Shelby Irene Long of Osnabruck, Germany, Caroline Adams (Jeremiah) Barnes of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and Sarah Ruth Adams of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and three great-grandchildren, Garrett, Brady, and Reese Robertson of Jackson, Tennessee and eight siblings Betty Weir, Paul Blevins, Arlie Blevins, Lucille Deakins, Louise Smith, Charles Blevins, Fred Blevins and Loretta Clark.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel. A memorial service will be follow at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. David Hall officiating.
