Cayleigh Elizabeth Alston

Cayleigh was a devoted follower of Jesus, loving wife to Michael, and fiercely devoted mother to her six children: Bella-Kate Ables; Londyn and Emmalyn Coats; and Aubrey, Coleman, and Eleanor Alston.

Motherhood was at the center of Cayleigh’s life. She homeschooled her children during different seasons, coached their sports teams, and created a home where other children were loved and mothered like her own.

Cayleigh was also a devoted daughter and sister, beloved aunt, visionary, midwife, business owner, passionate advocate, and incredible friend. As a midwife, she cared for mothers and families during some of life’s most sacred moments and passionately advocated for those in her care.

She loved adventures and celebrations and could make an ordinary day feel like both. She laughed loud and often but also quietly held space for others in a way few people could.

Cayleigh loved Jesus wholeheartedly. She attended RockPoint Church, but her faith was never confined to a building. She worshipped and loved Jesus wherever she went, and her faith shaped the way she loved and served others.

Cayleigh is survived by her husband, Michael Alston; her children, Bella-Kate Ables, Londyn Coats, Emmalyn Coats, Aubrey Alston, Coleman Alston, and Eleanor Alston; her mother, Kymberly Ott; her sister, Cara (Montague) Hicks; her brother, Corey (Candice) Ables; and her half-brother, Tommy Ables.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Eden, Baron, Rowan, and Titus Hicks; Adilyn, Charlee, and Ana Ables; Bo Henslee; Legend Smith; and Lucas Crevier; her beloved uncle, Jimmy Payne, who passed one week after her; and many close friends who truly were family to her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved nephew, Jaxton Whited; her father, Tommy Ables; and her grandparents, Melvin & Elizabeth Payne, with whom she is now reunited in Heaven.

It is fitting that Cayleigh’s life will be celebrated on her birthday, Saturday, September 5.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 4, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Family and friends are also invited to gather Saturday, September 5, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Crosswalk Chattanooga Church, 6401 Lee Highway, Chattanooga, TN 37421. A Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00 p.m., with a potluck gathering to follow.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

Cayleigh loved her people deeply, lived her faith openly, and made life an adventure worth celebrating. She will be deeply missed by the many people who were blessed to be loved by her.
