She was born August 7, 1920, in Beverly, WV to the late John and Nora (Talbott) Yoakum.
Mrs. Bierly was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Newcomers Sunday School Class.
She was an employee of the Federal Government, having worked for the American Red Cross, the Department of the Army, and ultimately retired from the Department of Health and Human Services after many years of service.
Her husband, Robert F. Bierly and brothers, Chester (Lilly) Yoakum, Leo (Dottie) Yoakum, and Troy (Helen) Yoakum preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (Chuck) Lawson of Rockville, MD; son, Dr. John “Jack” (Kristi) Bierly of Ooltewah, TN; four grandsons, Bryan (Krizia) Bierly, Brandon Bierly, Benjamin Bierly, and Richard Naylor; nephew, Ed (Beth) Yoakum, and nieces, Diane (John) Dandois, and Nancy (Tom) Hill as well as several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 26, 2026, from 2-4 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 PM with Pastor David Hall officiating.
