Cherlie Alice Kelso

Mrs. Kelso was born on April 14, 1928 in Bridgeport, CT, to her parents, Theodore A. Stevens and Ruth I. Purdy. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Grandview Heights High School. She attended Mount Union College in Berea,Kentucky, and she thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the college choir that had concerts around the country. Her first marriage was to Bob Durst, and Cherlie enjoyed being stationed with him in Germany for several years. She later married Donald Fredrick Kelso and lived in Lakeland, Florida. Cherlie enjoyed puttering around in her garden, and over the past years, she enjoyed traveling to see her sisters and spending time with them. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and dedicated herself and her life to caring for her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Kelso is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lucy Kelso Waite and David Waite of Athens, TN; her son Frederick Donald Kelso of Eureka, UT; her grandson and wife Jeffrey Dean Fabian and July Ruiz Fabian (and children Alisha Ruiz Fabian & Savannah Ruiz Fabian), Marc Nathaniel Crisp and his wife Tasha Janae Crisp (and children Bailee Ann-Marie Crisp & Grayson Wade Crisp), and Colt Wade Crisp (and children Bryson McClain Crisp, Zoey LeAn, & Ava LeAn).

She is also survived by her three sisters, Barbara Jane Howell (Stevens) of Dublin, OH, Nancy Anne Hart (Stevens) of Lone Tree, CO, & Joan Martha Rigal (Stevens) of Waterville, OH.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Fredrick Kelso, her granddaughter Jacquelyn Donanne Crisp, and her infant sister June Marie Stevens.

Mrs. Kelso will be cremated and a memorial service will take place at a later date at The Franklin-Strickland Chapel in Chattanooga, TN. All are welcome to attend in celebration of Ms. Kelso’s life.
