Claire & Riley Coots

She was a 2000 graduate of Ooltewah High School and was the manager for Hurricane Creek Dry Cleaners.

Her grandparents, Frank Joseph & Marion Jeannine DeMatteo preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Jason Lee Coots; parents, Tom & Debbie DeMatteo of Chattanooga; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Regina & Danny Coots of Chattanooga; sister Camille DeMatteo of Johnson City, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Michelle Coots of Chattanooga; nephews, Tyler Boyd and Drake Boyd; niece Vandolyn Boyd, all of Chattanooga; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral mass for Claire and her son Riley will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Diaz and the Rev. Dr. Jerry Campbell officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel.

Riley Stone Coots, age 5, of Ringgold passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 alongside his mother, Claire Coots from injuries sustained in a house fire. He was born November 11, 2007.

Riley attended Pre-K at Tiger Creek Elementary School. He played baseball with the Ringgold Youth Association and aspired to one day become a Military Doctor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

His great-grandparents, Otis & Ethelyn Smith, Herman & Corine Coots, and Frank Joseph & Marion Jeannine DeMatteo preceded him in death.
