Born November 2, 1940, Clara was the daughter of the late Jesse Adlock Lemons and Nannia Rose Scroggins Lemons. Throughout her life, she was deeply cherished by those who knew her, a faithful presence in the lives of her family and community, and a devoted woman whose steady care and love were felt in countless quiet ways.
Clara was employed at Robinson Manufacturing, where her hard-working spirit and sense of responsibility were evident to all who worked alongside her. Beyond her work, she enjoyed going on trips and valued the time she spent at the Rhea Senior Neighbors. She was a member of Ogden Baptist Church in Dayton, Tennessee, where her faith remained a guiding strength.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Carter; her brother, Robert Eugene Lemons; and her sisters, Ruth Barnwell and Edna Motes.
Clara is survived by her sons, Jesse ( Karen) Carter of Dayton Mountain and Coy Carter of Hazelhurst Georgia; her daughter, Vivian ( Howard) King of Pikeville, TN; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren—each a continuing testament to a life that was truly beloved.
