Clara J. Estes

Clara Jane Estes, age 90 of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 02, 2014 in a local hospice center. She was born February 3, 1924 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Marion & Cordie Brown.

She was a member of East Brainerd Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She retired from JCPenney after 25 years of service.

Clara was a fun-loving lady with a wonderful sense of humor. She was an avid gardener and dearly loved her family.

Her husband, Carl V. Estes and a daughter, Patricia Estes and several siblings preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Jean (Jim) Royer of Harrison; Vicky (Sherman) Fox of Chattanooga; grandsons, Chad Collins and Eric (Kristin) Collins; great-grandson, Braxton Collins all of Chattanooga; sister, Elvie Hill of Weaver, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
