I have been lucky enough to count Rusty as both a friend and a mentor. I have served with him through the Knights of Columbus since I first joined the Knights. It has been an honor to have him serve in all the Council officer positions as well as serve as a District Deputy twice. Rusty also as the Patriotic Degree Assembly's CEO, known as Faithful Navigator, twice as well.

Rusty was also a longtime captain of the Admissions Degree team and served as Warden on the both that team and the Formation Degree team. He was loved and respected by his brother Knights and through this service brought many men into the Knights and helped them progress through the degrees.

I have many great memories together of both time with the Knights, serving together (he as President) on the Parish Council as well as spending time with Rusty and Liz at St. Stephen Gourmet Cocktail events they organized and hosted as well!

I was always able to get well thought out advice and opinions from Rusty when I had questions while serving as Grand Knight and while deciding on becoming a District Deputy and really anything I asked him.

Rusty had a keen sense of humor and it served him and the rest of us well! He was the ultimate professional in all that he did and I will never forget his leadership and wise counsel!

Rusty and LIz have raised a fantastic family and it I've enjoyed meeting them and spending a little time with them over the years as well. I know he will be missed greatly and I already miss him greatly!

Love,
Rick Powell

Rusty was my best friend in junior high and high school. Rusty introduced me to Mary. Mary and Liz were roommates at Texas A&I.
We were saddened to hear of Rusty’s passing but glad that he knew his Lord and Savior.

Rusty and Liz always made sure we felt welcome in their home. Rusty was always kind and generous including us in important family occasions. He was quick to laugh and could make a story come alive. He will be greatly missed. We are so sorry for your loss. We are praying for peace and comfort for you all.
