Derek was a long time member of The New Holy Temple Cathedral COGIC. He graduated from Kirkman Technical High School. He then went on to Edmonson Jr. College where he studied cosmetology and became a hairdresser to many people in the Chattanooga area.
Derek was preceded in death by his mother Ernestine West.
He leaves to morn his father Larry Johnson, of Chattanooga, TN ; brother Sean (Gina) Johnson of Courtland, AL; aunt Alice West; uncle Samuel West both from Chattanooga, TN and a host of relatives and friends and three devoted friends Robbie Dillard, Tony Bonner and Paul Bonner.
A celebration of Derek's life will be held on, Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 5pm at New Holy Temple Cathedral COGIC in Chattanooga TN 37406
