She was born August 5, 1923 in Apison to the late Claude and Ted Kaneaster.
Mrs. Hood and her family had lived in the East Brainerd community since 1945.
She met and married the love of her life in 1944 and they were married for 50 years at the time of his death. She was a devoted mother who raised three sons.
Mrs. Hood was a member of East Brainerd Baptist Church.
Her husband, Burling “B.C.” Hood and sons, Lamar Hood and Gene Hood preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Dale Hood of Chattanooga; grandson, Greg Hood of Apison; and great-grandson, Sam Hood.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
