Eddie was born on March 21, 1951, in Harriman General Hospital in Harriman, Tennessee to the late Arthur and Josephine Bingham.
He graduated from Oakdale High School in 1969 where he played football for three years. Eddie earned BS and MS degrees in Mathematics from Tennessee Technological University. He then taught Mathematics at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia for five years, rising from the rank of College Instructor to Assistant Professor.
In 1979, he married Judith Ann Jenkins, moved to the Chattanooga area and went to work for Astec Industries as a draftsman. Forty-two years later, he retired as the lead Applications Engineer.
Eddie was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church. He was an active deacon for several years. He served as deacon secretary for at least three years and served on the deacon nominating committee. He also served on the Security Committee, Baptismal Committee, Nominating Committee, and Committee on Committees.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Judith Bingham; son, Alan Bingham and his wife Sheryl of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Desi of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Pamela Bingham of Seminole, FL; brother, Bob Bingham of Harriman, TN; niece Cindy Campbell; nephews, Timothy Coleman and Christian Bingham; and several great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Rev. Steve Rowland officiating.
Interment will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
