He was born October 6, 1929 in Dayton, KY to the late Maynard & Dolly Rouse.
His wife, Mary Rouse, son, Denny Rouse, and brothers, John, Alan, and Tommy Rouse preceded him in death.
He was a member of Ooltewah Baptist Church, the Tri-State Wood Turner Club, and the Tennessee Valley Bonsai Society. He was retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service.
Survivors include his children, Joy (Ray) Early of Tennessee, Diane Warren, Joseph Rouse, Randolph Rouse and Edward Rouse, Jr. all of Ohio, and Bart Slatton of Colorado; sister, Carol Taulbee of Georgia; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery Monday, August 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Broom officiating. Military Honor will provided by the Tennessee Army National Guard.
