I had the great pleasure of knowing Eric for over 40 years. We were roommates in college at UNC-Charlotte. I can't remember ever even having a single disagreement with him. Today there is a hole in my heart with him gone.
Staying in touch through the years, we would laugh at our crazy antics in college but conversation would always lead to family. Eric was proud of the family unit Deborah and he created. I know the family will miss "Papa E".
As I spread the sad news to our UNCC brothers, please rest assured that Eric was loved, respected and a big special part of our young lives. We find comfort now knowing he out of pain and with our Lord and Savior. Sleep well my brother!

Eric was a college classmate of mine and within the few years we experienced together, developed a brother bond that has carried over through the years. I have so many great memories of Eric and and our “posse” (Ray, Sath, Mike...) that it sounds book worthy when they’re mentioned! Eric was a great, loved and trusted friend, and will be truly missed. My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends. Rest In Peace brother.

Just found out about Eric's passing, and I want to extend my deepest condolences to all of you who loved him. (How could one not) I met him in the 6th grade and though I haven't seen him in a while, it will never change my fondness and friendship for Eric. He was one of the funniest people I've ever known, and he had a heart of gold. This occasion even made me remember his parents. I just don't have the words to convey how highly I regarded Eric. To his family and loved ones please let me just say how truly sorry I am and I know the world will have a little less joy and humor to go around without Eric. May God put his arms around you and give you comfort and healing. Chet Brooks
