She was predeceased by her husband, and is survived by a son, three daughters, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister and their families.
She attended Tennessee Wesleyan College and the University of Chattanooga and was a founding member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church where she taught kindergarten and preschool classes from 1958 – 2006. She was devoted to her family and church and enjoyed gardening, travel, the arts and playing piano to accompany hymn and popular song sing-a-longs at elder care facilities and senior living complexes.
A memorial service will be held at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 3204 Hixson Pike, Chattanooga, TN at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Cross of Christ Lutheran Church.
