

He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Naomi Snedden. His wife of 60 years, Evelyn Snedden, son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Kipley, Debra and Kari Snedden, stepfather and stepmother, George and Betty Ullrich, and sisters Eleanor “Sis” Horvath and Pam Dean preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Ted Snedden (Debbie), Tim Snedden (Penny), Joy Traxler (Brian); grandchildren, Anna and Andrew Snedden, Brenton, Nathan (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and Caleb Traxler; siblings, David Snedden, Kenny Snedden (Linda), Juanita Weber, Kendall Snedden (Dot), George Ullrich (Jami), David Ullrich (Alicia) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gene was a life-time member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, with membership at Berkeley Springs church since 1983. He worked at the Review and Harold Publishing Assoc. for 42 years and was the director of various Pathfinder clubs for many years.
He loved to travel, hike and make home videos for every occasion. As a beloved husband, father, grandpa and patriarch of the family, he will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025 in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in West Virginia.
