She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Tate; mother, Thelma Tate; brothers, Jerry Tate and Ronnie Tate; and grandson, Larry Ransom, Jr.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Pamela Burks of Huntsville, AL; son, Raymond Tate of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Carlmela Ransom; grandsons, Darrell Burks and Cornelius Burks; and granddaughter, Cherrelle Burks, all of Huntsville, AL; great grandchildren, Brittany Ransom, Roosevelt Sidney, Ra'Niya Sidney, Cardarius Sidney, Ro'Miya Sidney and Shavonna Ransom all of Huntsville, AL; great great grandchild, Tyamir Sanderson of Huntsville, AL; other relatives and friends.

A Visitation for Gladys will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services Franklin-Strickland Chapel, 1724 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN, 37404.
