Jacqualine Renee Bottoms

March 20, 1944September 22, 2020

On Sept, 22, 2020, my sweet, precious Jacqualine Renee Bottoms entered the presence of her Savior and Lord, whom she loves with all her heart. She had a full and fruitful life! She was a Proverbs 31:10-31 wife! She graduated from Baylor University School of Dental Hygiene, Texas A&M School of Journalism, Bryan, TX and Baylor University School of Law, Waco, TX. She was an attorney in the oil business in Houston, TX and started her own family practice. During that time, she battled successfully through cancer by God's grace. Having put her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, she became a faithful member of Cypress Bible Church where she met her husband Richard(Rick), who found that he could no longer tell Aggie or lawyer jokes. Leaving her law practice, we moved to Chattanooga, TN (Yes, Rick is writing this!) where Renee joined the staff of Leadership Ministries World Wide, editing "The Preacher's Outline and Sermon Bible" for seventeen years in various Bible translations. Her work has gone out throughout the world to assist those who cannot get Biblical training but are called to share God's Word. Her joy was teaching ladies Bible studies at Grace Baptist Church and encouraging individual women in their everyday walk with the Lord Jesus. Ladies, her journal is full of your names and her prayers for you, retiring end of Jan. she fought through her final battle with joy, knowing she would be with her Savior, with sadness, leaving all of us whom she loved. She is the godliest women I know. She was always praying specifically for others. She was diligent at studying God's word. She was loving and diligent in taking care of me(Rick)! There are no words to express how much I love her and what an honor it has been to be her husband. She finished strong and left a fruitful legacy written in lives but her highest desire was that all praise, honor, thanks and glory be to her precious Lord Jesus who worked in and through her, Praise and thanks to all the kind wonderful nurses at Hearth Hospice for your loving care of my Renee. She loved and prayed for you all. Thanks to the folks at Pulmonary Services for your great service! Thank you church family and family for taking care of us so lovingly and graciously. God's grace and blessings to you all where needed! She was preceded in death by her mother Martha J. Bates Haus and both grandparents. She is survived by her very much loved husband, Richard(Rick) A. Bottoms; father, Charles N. Haus; brother, Charles(Chuck) N. Haus II; sister, Deborah Haus Nelson; niece, Alissa L. Hudson; nephew, Mitchell J. Haus. Renee requested that instead of flowers that donations be made to Frontline Fellowship or Leadership Ministries Worldwide. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at National Cemetery with Rev. Randall Collins officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19, we request that mask be worn and all Hamilton County and the CDC mandates be adhered to. Mask must be worn at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Please share your memories of Renee with the family at Arrangements are by the East Brained Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 8214 E. Brainerd Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37421.

As my godmother, I knew her as my Aunt Nay. In part because I couldn't say Renee and in part because she was a horse woman when I was growing up.

I clearly remember being taught how to fry hamburgers in a cast iron skillet by her one night during a sleepover.

Her strong steady countenance remains a gift to me and an example to strive to achieve.

Rick, words can't convey what impact your sweet wife had on me during the four years I knew her. She was always such an encouragement to everyone who knew her, both here at LMW and elsewhere. After joining the team in 2016, it did not take me long to figure out why LMW had so much trust in her. What a gifted mind! Renee would always catch things others (including myself) would overlook. The friendly advice she gave us all was priceless. But what I will remember most about Renee is her unswerving devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Christlike encouragement exuded from her. It is what she modeled to each of us daily (even during days I know were challenging for her). I am so grateful I got to know this special woman during the final chapter of her life. Rick, I am also saddened for your deep loss yet rejoice with you that Renee is present with the Lord she so deeply loved.

Dear Rick,
Joanne and I are reminded of the precious life of your dear wife and the wonderful spirit that was so evident to all that interacted with her. Although we have written you directly, we want to be included in her Memory Book as ones that recognized the special quality of her life as she gave her obvious gifts to the work of Leadership Ministries Worldwide. Rick, her love for you was a quiet and beautiful recognition of who you are and your great care for her in the Lord. God's peace to you.

I worked for the Bottoms on many occasions remolding their house and they became dear friends of mine. Renee was a wonderful God fearing lady that touched a lot of people in her life. She will be dearly missed.

Renee has helped me and prayed me through some really hard times in my life. I am so thankful God allowed her to be in my life. She was a spiritual mother to me. I know she is at home and loving every minute of it, but I miss her.

Rick, thank you for sharing her with me.

Dear Rick,
The angels in heaven are rejoicing since your dear Renee arrived…but we mourn her loss with you. It’s hard to put into words just how much Renee meant to JB and me. We loved and appreciated everything about her. I told her often that she was God’s gift to LMW and my personal GEM—what a blessing she was to me! She epitomized the life of a true believer in every way and was such an encouragement and inspiration right up to the end.
We will miss her bright light here on earth every day, but rejoice that she’s basking in God’s light for eternity! You will long remain in our thoughts and prayers, Rick.
Love in Christ,
Vicki and JB Lyles

Mildred and I are deeply saddened by Renee’s passing, but are delighted in the knowledge that she is with the Lord and that we will see her again one day.
Renee was gifted by the Lord with a powerful intellect, a meticulous work ethic, and a kind, gentle and loving heart. Her service to the Lord at LMW was extremely important and will impact the lives of countless people around the world who read the ministry’s material.
We will be praying for you in the days to come and ask that you let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
In His Love,
