He was a United States Army Veteran serving two terms in Vietnam. He spent many years as a furniture salesman.
His brother, John Hagan preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Charlotte Hagan; three daughters, Geri Daily of Marietta, Georgia, Melanie (Dean) Carver of State Center, Iowa, and Cindy Hagan of Dubuque, Iowa; four grandsons, Ryan and Kody Carver of State Center, Iowa, and Nathan and Joey Blasen of Dubuque, Iowa; one sister, Patricia (Jimmy) Howell of Owensboro, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
