James Thomas McClendon

James Thomas McClendon, Jr. aged 76, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025. James (JT) was born on July 5, 1949 at Erlanger Medical Center to James T. (Aaron Bey) McClendon, Sr.

He graduated from Riverside High School, class of 1967. He proudly served his country when he joined the United States Marines right after high school.

Once he returned from the Marines, he went to work for US Pipe for 1 year. He then went to work for Mueller Company, where he retired after 38 and a 1/2 years.

James' favorite times were spent with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Those James leaves behind to cherish his memories include his wife, Johnie Mae McClendon; brother, William W. McClendon; daughters, Zandra (Antarious) Fluellen, Yolanda McClendon, Tawanna Howard, Rhonda McClendon and Scherrie Johnson; son, James T. (Tanyell) McClendon, III; stepdaughters, Melinda Watkins, Shalisa Watkins and Lucinda Watkins; other relatives and dear friends.

A Lie-In-State for James will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Franklin Strickland Chapel, 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 11:00 am, 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

The Committal Service will follow from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Chattanooga National Cemetery, 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
