Jewell Jeanette Headrick

presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with her children by her side.  She was born September 3, 1936, in Maryville, TN to the late Hubert M. and Cora (Huskey) Owenby. 

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful friend to many.  She had a gentle sweet spirit and servant’s heart.   She retired from Central High School where she worked in special education. 

She had a strong faith and was active in the Harvest Sunday School Class at Ridgedale Baptist Church. 

Her husband of 60 years, Harold Leon Headrick and all her seven siblings preceded her in death. 

She often said she was so blessed, and she truly lived up to her namesake. She was a “Jewell”!

Survivors include her son, Tim Headrick of Ooltewah; daughter, Lisa (Terry) Blake of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Kyndall (Jonathan) Squires of Chattanooga, Josh (Sophie) Blake of Nashville; and great-grandchildren, Ellison and Mac Squires.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 3:30 – 6:00 PM

The funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM in the East Brainerd Chapel with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating.  The Harvest Sunday school class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family and friends will gather at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, for a graveside service at Chattanooga National Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN  37421.
