He was born February 19, 1940 in Mobile, AL to the late Helen & John Danner, Sr.
He actively volunteered at Tennessee Aquarium, Ronald McDonald Family Room, the Community Kitchen and was a longtime Treasurer of ChattaBama Club. Jack was an Elder Emeritus for his 15 years of service at Rivermont Presbyterian Church. He previously served as the Moderator of the East Tennessee Presbytery. Prior to coming to Rivermont, Jack was an Elder and Deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Payne, Alabama.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Springhill College in Mobile, Alabama and his Master of Business Administration from Mississippi State University.
Jack was a member of the United States Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam.
His brothers, William Danner and Joseph Francis Danner preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 59 years, Lucy Martin Danner; daughters, Katherine Danner of Marietta, GA, Julianne (Andrew) Love of Dothan, AL; brother, Garin (Debbie) Danner of Mobile, AL; sister-in-law, Eleanor Danner of Slidell, LA; brother-in-law Marvin (Diana) Martin of Anniston, AL; grandchildren, William Love, John Love, and Anna Kate Love; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Rivermont Presbyterian Church (3319 Hixson Pike, Chattanooga, TN 37415). Rev. Dr. Clay Thomas and Rev. Margaret Poteet will officiate. Visitation hours will be from 10:30 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
A private inurnment will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
