Fifty One years of friendship, too many memories to count but they will be carried in my heart forever. Rest, my precious friend, and know I will be there whenever your family needs a shoulder to cry on or a story to relive. You were an inspiration to my family with your strength and it will carry us through the tomorrows. Thank you for loving us John David, Carol Joy, Chip and family. Always, Sandy

Carol, Chip & Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult days. David was a great friend and I will miss our conversations we would have about Tennessee and South Carolina basketball and football. Rest in peace my friend and may your memory be eternal.

Although it has been many years since seeing David, I frequently inquired of him through his mother, Vera, when I would see her at WPBC. Fond memories of our days together at UTC. Always enjoyed watching him play basketball. Praying for God’s grace for you and your family.

Love this family so much!
I adored him from the moment I met him.
One of the funniest memories was of Chip helping David leave Helen’s house one New Years Eve with pistachio shells stuck in his shoes. Lol. Good times.
Love to you all.

David and I played basketball at City High School for Coach Phifer. He always seemed to be smiling while dribbling past me at practice. He will be missed. My most sincere sympathy to Miss Carol Joy and their family.

The first time I saw David, he was wearing a Rangers baseball uniform as he left his dugout to meet me at home plate with his lineup card. I remember looking into his eyes and it was as though he was saying, yeah, I have a little trouble walking, but I love this game. It was then that I knew I would love and respect this man forever. The Chattanooga High School Alumni Association extends it's deepest sympathy to Carol Joy and the family. David was a member of the CHS Class of 1964 and a true Dynamo for life.

On a personal note I was in the Jr Lions club with David. He was a wonderful friend, a great basketball player and a devoted family man. RIP old friend.
