He was born August 16, 1943, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Juanita (McMichael) & John E. Marshall, Sr.
Mr. Marshall was a decorated Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Navy and Marines as an Aviation Medicine Technician and Hospital Corpsman.
He taught electronics at Kirkman Technical High School, Tyner High School, and Howard High School. He was the owner of Mar*San Electronics and worked at Wholesale Tape and Supply Company as well as WTVC News Channel 9.
John was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
His brother Dewey Darius Marshall preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra Lee Marshall; son, John Edward Marshall III; daughters Leeanne Coffman (Ian Hearn), Kimberly Harville; stepdaughters, Kelly Fisher Manis (Jim); Cindy Russell Wittler (Ken); stepsons, William Keith Fisher (Lisa) and Stanley Louis Russell (Melinda); sister, Brenda Caldwell; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
