Johnie Richardson

Johnie Richardson, age 89, of Ringgold, GA, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026. He was born November 28, 1936, in Clermont, GA to the late Luther Delano and Lillian (Blackwell) Richardson. He resided in Chattanooga, TN and Ringgold, GA since 1958.

Johnie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet Hulsey Richardson, grandson Oliver Glaser and sister, Bobbie Lee Sparks.

He is survived by his son John David Richardson and daughter-in-law Diane Richardson and grandchildren, Johnny Pierce Richardson, Britt Hufstetler, and Anna Grace (Luc) Nionquit and great-grandson, Luc Leon Nionquit; daughter Kara Richardson Urban, son-in-law Steven Urban; sister, Susan Strickland and brother-in-law, Mark Strickland; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was a member of the Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN for many years and more recently at Ringgold First Baptist Church of Ringgold, GA.

He loved to travel and had many opportunities to visit and reside in other countries during his professional career, including living in Chang Won, South Korea, and visiting China, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, England, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and many other locations.

He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will begin at 6:00 PM in the East Brainerd Chapel with the Rev. Eric Kennedy officiating.

Mr. Richardson will be taken for a graveside service at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Clermont, GA on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
