Joyce Moses Ellis lived her life surrounded by family and friends. On Sunday, December 15, 2019 Joyce passed on to heaven gracefully in that same manner, at home encircled by loved ones. “Hosting” her last gathering, as she loved to do. Her love language was hospitality and it was given as freely and genuinely as her sweet smile. In her home, the more the merrier was always the motto and she made place for everyone at the table. Joyce exuded an unwavering love for the Lord and her church. If she wasn’t shopping, baking, or telling you a story about her grandkids, she was at the feet of Jesus ready to help share His message in any way she could. Alongside her husband Steve, Joyce ministered to countless souls through divorce and widowed care classes. These friends became family and they cared for her til her last breath. Joyce’s battle against cancer was faced with positivity and faith; she had peace in knowing this world was not her home.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband Steve Ellis, daughters Heather Linderman (Greg), Holly Carmona (Daniel), step-daughter Katrina McBee (Steve), and step-son Steve Ellis Jr. (Misty), her beloved grandchildren, Alex, Chandler, Chloe (Katrina), Brock, Jaden (Steve Jr.), Harper Kate, Noah (Heather), and Wren (Holly), her mother Virginia Phillips, her brother Randy Phillips, sister Connie Looney (Lloyd), and her treasured nieces and nephews. Joyce has been reunited with her first husband Tony Moses, her daddy W.A. Phillips, and her sister-in-law Connie Darlene Phillips (Randy).
