Laura Denise Vanderweide

Laura Denise Vanderweide, 59, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on September 23, 2026. Born on July 12, 1967, Laura will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who had the privilege to know her.

Laura was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Medford; her father, Houston Edgeman Sr.; and her brother, Houston Edgeman Jr.

She is survived by her husband, William Vanderweide; her sister, Rebecca Shaver; her sons, Allen, Michael, Cody, and Joshua Vanderweide; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Beloved and cherished, Laura carried herself with a gentle steadiness that brought comfort to others. Her compassionate heart and thoughtful nature were evident in the quiet ways she cared—patiently, faithfully, and without seeking recognition. She was devoted to her family, loyal in her relationships, and consistently honest, kind-hearted, and selfless in the way she met the needs of those around her. Her hard work was not simply a habit, but a reflection of her commitment to provide, to support, and to love well.

As she once expressed so simply and so truly: “mother of four but a mom for many.” In that spirit, Laura’s life stands as a testament to enduring care and unwavering devotion—an influence that will be carried forward by the many lives she touched.
