Leila June Wood

Born on February 2, 1933, Leila was one of eight children and is survived by her sister, Mary Longwith of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 40 years, Reverend Perry Wood, and by her son, William Perry Wood.

She is survived by her children: Dale Loftin (Jerry Loftin), Patricia Thee, Lenetta Holder (Michael Holder), Mary Driscoll (Eric Driscoll), and Alechia Hartley (Tim Hartley). Her legacy also lives on through 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A devoted woman of faith, Leila stepped into leadership at Latter Day Church of God after her husband’s passing, continuing their shared mission to minister to others. Her love for God was expressed through her music, as she often sang and played the guitar to inspire and comfort those around her.

Leila will be remembered for her steadfast faith, loving spirit, and the countless lives she touched through her ministry and kindness.

A visitation for Leila will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Franklin Strickland Chapel, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

A funeral service will occur Friday, August 15, 2025 at 2:30 PM, 1724 Mccallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

A committal service will occur Friday, August 15, 2025 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5351 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
