Although I never had the opportunity to meet Uncle Lionel in person, I was blessed to know him through our phone conversations. Despite the time difference between the United States and Denmark, he always seemed to know the perfect time to call. He never failed to wish me a good day at work, and those calls always meant so much to me.

When I started my studies in Denmark, I needed to take an English proficiency test. Uncle Leonel and Uncle Guinness generously paid for that test, and I have always been deeply grateful for their kindness and support. It was one of the many ways he invested in my future and encouraged me to keep moving forward.

He always reminded me to be strong and courageous. He would tell me that no matter where I was in the United States, Europe, or anywhere else in the world I should never give up. He encouraged me to keep fighting for my dreams, to work hard, and to remember that many people would be grateful to have the opportunities I have. Those words have stayed with me and continue to inspire me every day.

Even over the phone, his kindness, generosity, and genuine care for others were impossible to miss. I could always feel what a good and loving man he was. I never had the chance to meet him face to face, but I thank God that I was able to know his heart through his words and his constant encouragement.

Today, as our family comes together to honor his life, I believe he would be proud to see us united in love. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the encouragement he gave, and the values he shared with us.

Rest in peace, Uncle Leonel. You will always be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep respect. May God grant you eternal rest and comfort everyone who mourns your passing.

Leonel was my cousin. Though our paths did not cross often, I still remember his visits to our home during the holidays — always with a warm smile and a genuine, caring interest in us children. That kindness stayed with me.
