Dr. Leslie Maurice Frazier, age 92, of Chattanooga, TN peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 4, 2026. He was born in Hillsboro, Texas on October 10, 1933, the youngest of seven children to Frank and Tennie Bell Frazier.
Les was married to the love of his life, Bonnie Jean Bisby, on December 17, 1949, in Georgetown, Texas, and faithfully loved her until he entered Heaven’s gates. They lived a life dedicated to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as missionaries with Baptist International Missions Inc. for most of their adult lives including 21 years in Japan.
His passion for world missions began during his service in the US Air Force during the Korean War when he was stationed in Japan. His mission work in Japan included church planting and serving as Assistant Vice President of Kansai Independent Baptist Bible School where he trained men and women for the ministry. After his time in Japan, he served as Far East Director for BIMI and continued mission work by traveling to churches and visiting various mission fields. He always had an open Bible on his desk because he was a life-long student of God’s Word. He was an avid reader, loved golf, board games, cornhole, and playing pool with his friends at The Bridge. He was loved dearly by his children and grandchildren, and everyone who had a chance to know him.
Les was preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings, his wife, Bonnie Frazier, and his son, Guy Frazier. He is survived by his son Mike (Rachel) Frazier, his daughter Pamela (John) Waters, 7 grandchildren: Bonnie Marie Frazier, Lauren (Grady) Clark, Justin (Katie) Frazier, Connor Frazier, John Waters, Ansley Waters, and Corrigan Waters. 4 great grandchildren: Danica Frazier, Cooper Clark, Wyatt Frazier, and Reagan Clark.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to The Bridge in Ooltewah and Hearth Hospice of Chattanooga for their incredible care and support. A celebration of life service will be held at Stanley Heights Baptist Church, 1512 Mc Brien Rd Chattanooga, TN 37412 on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 8214 East Brainerd Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37421.
