

She was born on September 28, 1949 in Pikeville, Tennessee to Cager Dottie Mills and Carmel Bishop Mills.
Lois grew up on Signal Mountain and graduated from Sequatchie County High School in 1967. After graduation, she moved to Chattanooga where she soon began raising a family of her own.
After raising her three children, Lois began a life dedicated to caring for the sick and elderly. She also spent many years as a personal cook and caregiver to families throughout the Chattanooga area. She was known for her home cooked meals and delicious desserts.
Lois was a gardener at heart and in her spare time enjoyed digging in the dirt. She was a prolific grower of a variety of houseplants and succulents and was very well known for her green thumb.
Lois is survived by her three children, Patrick Brooks, Eric Mansfield (Alana), Courtney Mansfield (Brinn Dalton) and the light of her life, her beautiful granddaughter, Josephine Dalton.
She is also survived by her three siblings, Michael Mills (Cindy), Sue Mills and Joseph Mills (Rebekah). She leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Lois had a gregarious personality, beautiful heart and charming wit. She was the kind of person who never met a stranger. Lois was a huge presence in the lives of many people and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services-Franklin Strickland Chapel, 1724 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
