Ms. Lottie Anita Canada-Stamper peacefully transitioned from this bodily flesh into her heavenly stead on August 25, 2026, at her home in Cleveland Tennessee, where she lay resting in bed at a peaceful state.
Kokoa, as she was called by family and friends, was born on Tuesday April 15, 1958, at her family home in Birmingham, Alabama of Jefferson County to Juanita Virginia Walton-Canada and Hebert Chester Canada Sr. She spent her early childhood in their new family home located in Chickamauga, Georgia of Walker County where she was the youngest of six and the eldest of two of her siblings. Her early childhood was surrounded by family, farm life, strength, and perseverance. Creating the strong, courageous, and full of life personality we all know her to have.
She attended Rossville High School, in Rossville Georgia, where she participated in many sports like flag, cheerleading, and being an allstar basketball player and the only black student on the team, she proudly wore the number #13 on her jersey and took joy in being a Rossville Bulldog.
At the tender age of 20, Lottie married Henry Eugene Stamper and resided in Dewberry GA. Where they raised three children. After some time, she moved to Chattanooga Tennessee, where she began her young adult life. She worked two and three jobs at a time to provide for her children and soon met the love of her life, Mr. William (Sonny) Baker. A love that would out last both their lives. It was in these years that she experienced life, growing pains, and the joys of life.
Lottie faced many challenges in life, and with the grace of God, she overcame them all. She experienced the highs of life and the lows, but they did not hold her down. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. God healed her and she got back up. She had many hard fights to overcome. She fought them. She trusted in the Lord and he healed, delivered, and set her free. She was more than a conquer and she looked good being it. She was a diva who made sure each of us saw it and understood. She had a bold personality and was not afraid to live it out loud. She was the life of every gathering she entered. She loved, she laughed, she enjoyed life, and she will be greatly missed.
Lottie was raised in the church and under the foundation that the Lord is our salvation. However, in life, you can find yourself slipping away, but she always found her way back. She became a member of Rock Island Baptist Church in the early 2000's under the leadership of Ronald B. Cook Sr. and returned before transitioning to be with the Lord.
