Margaret (Margie) Lorene Harris, age 96, of Ooltewah, TN went to her rest on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. She was born July 28, 1929, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Bessie Mae (Ball) and George Washington Langston, Sr.
She was a faithful member of East Brainerd Church of Christ.
Her husband of 71 years, Richard Thomas Harris, beloved grandson, Richard Hughes and son-in-law, J. R. Kilgore preceded her in death.
She is survived by her two daughters, Wanda (Randall) Hughes and Lynda Kilgore; one granddaughter; two grandsons; six great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. She loved the Lord and her church.
She finished the race and was a wonderful example of love and faith.
A private graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In fulfilling Margaret’s request, there will be no visitation or service at the funeral home.
