Margaret Jaquetta Shropshire

She was a Sunday School teacher at Prospect Baptist Church for over 40 years. She retired from J.C Towers where she worked for many years.

Granny played a major part in the development and of love and teaching about our heavenly father; she was a very spiritual woman of God. She was residing in the home with her grandson, Jeffrey Shropshire, where she passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. She was in the company of her Caregiver, Denetra Shaw, who had cared for her for a year and a half.

Margaret was preceded in death and joins in Christ her father, John Clifford Shropshire; mother, Julia Starr Shropshire; sons, Ralph Shropshire, and George Shropshire; daughter, Evelyn ‘Judy’ Reese; granddaughter, Karen Reese; brother, John Shropshire; and sisters, Vivian McGhee and Doris Hilton.

She is survived by her sons, Edward (June) Shropshire and David (Sandra) Shropshire; daughter, Jacqueline Shropshire; grandkids, Jeffrey, Rosalind, Daphne, Tony, Bobby, Anjail, Nadiyah, Michelle, Taryn, Tara, George Patrick, Taneka and Rashaad; a host of great and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She definitely earned the name “Granny”.

A Visitation for Margaret will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Prospect Baptist Church, 734 Dodson Ave, Chattanooga TN 37404.

Funeral Services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm.
