Mark Clift Northern

died on October 15, 2026. He was born in Bedford, England on April 19, 1959, to Brooks and Shirley Northern.

Mark’s dad was in the Air Force and he traveled the world growing up. Mark lived in England, Italy, Turkey, various places in the U.S., and finally moved to Chattanooga when his dad retired.

Mark was a successful salesman, rugby and soccer player in his prime and was an avid Arsenal soccer fan. His greatest joy was watching and knowing his children’s successes.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Northern, and is survived by his children Brooks Northern (Jessie Rabasca) and Grace Northern-Hunter (Jon Hunter) of Chicago, father and stepmother Brooks and Mary Alice Northern, and former wife, Amy Northern.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23rd beginning at 4 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, with the service beginning at 5pm.

The family wishes to thank Lifecare of Redbank and Hospice of Chattanooga, especially his caretakers Destiny and Matt.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 848 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN., 37415.
