She was a member of East Brainerd Church of Christ.
Her sisters, Frances Philpot, Lois Powe, and brothers, Buddy Cox, Luke Cox, and Charles Cox preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James L. Alexander; daughters, Connie (Jim) Pilkinton of Nashville; Cynthia (Gene) Maroon of Cleveland; 4 grandchildren, Rachel Hulsey, Mark (Erica) Pilkinton; Nicholas (Courtney) Betancourt, & Mary (Drew) Ross; sisters, Martha (Buddy) Lamb; Ruth (Martin) Harris; Edna (Charles) Ballard; Barbara (Horace) Turner; and brothers, Lewis (JoAnn) Cox; Larry (Catherine) Cox.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Minister C. G. Griffith officiating. Nicholas Betancourt, Gene Maroon, Drew Ross, Mark Pilkinton, Larry Cox, and Jim Pilkinton will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Cox, Martin Harris, Horace Turner, and Charles Ballard.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
