Michael was born on November 2, 1958, in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, to Roger Carey and Jacqueline A. (LaFleche) Carey. He grew up in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, where he played football for Uxbridge High School and developed a lifelong love of the outdoors — the beach, swimming, the mountains, skiing, and always chasing a good view. He went on to work as a contractor for vinyl siding in Uxbridge before later moving to Florida, where he ran
his own business installing hurricane shutters.
Since 1991, Michael shared his life with Sue King, the love of his life. Together they traveled, gathered their family close, and made a home built on devotion. In his free time, Michael loved nothing more than riding his motorcycle.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend — fiercely protective of the family he loved so deeply.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sue King, of Dunlap, TN; his mother, Jacqueline A. Carey; his siblings, Cheryl Carey of Las Vegas, NV, Roger Carey of Webster, MA, Robin Kenoian and her husband Chuck of Forestdale, RI, and Lon Carey of Milford, MA; his children, Sean
King (Lauren) of Gulf Shores, AL, Kimberly McCarthy (Eric) of Dunlap, TN, Kathryn Miles (Craig) of Noblesville, IN, and Kari King (Pete Woodward) of Dubuque, IA; and his grandchildren, Connor and Hannah King, and Molly, Stevie, and Bryson Miles.
He also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews: Jessica and Chris, Collin Costa, Ryan and Tyler Carey, Leandra Wallen, Andrew and Ronni, Mason, Hunter Kenoian, Sarah and Craig, Chase, Cali, Crew Resley, Shayne Carey, and McGee Fioramonti (Danny).
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Carey.
No celebration of life is scheduled at this time.
