Mildred Fisher Clarke

Mildred F. Clarke, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the age of 101. Mildred was an honor graduate of Sharon High School, the University of Tennessee and Memphis State University. She taught school at Tipton County Schools and Brownsville City Schools. She retired from the University of Tennessee as Associate Dean of the University of Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service, she was also an Extension Agent for Haywood County. While serving the University, she was the recipient of many honors and awards. In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling to many locations thru out the world and being active in her church community. She was member of First Presbyterian Church, in Dunedin, Florida. Mildred loved playing the piano, watching movies, attending concerts, and playing Bridge.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Clarke, and only son, Kenneth F. Clarks, her father and mother, Delmer and Delia Fisher, brothers, Wayne, Wendell, Russell and Warner Fisher.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Eric Mullinex officiating. Family will receive friends 1 hour before the service Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the funeral home. Mildred will be laid to rest at Brownsville Oakwood Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or the University of Tennessee Mildred F. Clarke Home Economics Development Endowment Fund #B12996289, University of Tennessee Knoxville.
