Monica Marie Johnson

She graduated Brainerd High School and went on to touch countless hearts with her vibrant spirit and unforgettable personality.

Monica had a beautiful way of lighting up every room she entered. Her laughter was contagious, her energy magnetic and her presence impossible to ignore. She loved deeply and cared fiercely, especially for her daughter, who was truly the center of her world. She was always willing to lend a hand and would simply show up when someone needed her. And while monica could have her moments, that little mean streak that came out every now and then, you also always knew that she loved you as well.

Monica was the kind of person who brought realness wherever she went; she was unapologetically herself!

Though she left us far too soon, Monica's love, laughter and strength will continue to live on through every memory, every story and most of all through her daughter. Her presence will forever be missed, but the impact of her love will never fade.

Monica was preceded in death by her brother, Aaron Darnell Johnson, Jr.; grandfathers, William Finley and Willie Johnson; and grandmothers, Ethel Marie Johnson and Annie Lou Shackelford; great grandmother, Lula Mae Shackelford; and great grandfather, Jessie Shackelford.

Survivors include her daughter, Kynle Holloway of Chattanooga, TN; mother, Elaine Knuckles of Chattanooga, TN; father, Aaron Darnell Johnson, Sr. of Cartersville, GA; brothers, William (Carrie) Abbott of Cartersville, GA and Robert Knuckles of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Priscilla (Durand) Wiley, Kimberly Shackelford, Natasha Johnson, Christy Johnson, Crystal Johnson all of Chattanooga, TN and Linda (Justin) Johnson of Knoxville, TN; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.

A Visitation for Monica will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Franklin Strickland Chapel, 1724 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37404.

Funeral Services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm.
