Mrs. Slaten always had a smile. I never heard her raise her voice. She was such a wonderful mom especially to Nan. I had the privilege of living across the street from the Slatens. The neighborhood around Sweetbriar, Sweet Street and Briar Street was such a wonderful place to grow up. I have fun memories of her letting me play in the back yard with Nan. Mr. Slaten, Debra and Eddie ( our childhood names) you are in my prayers. I know without a doubt that one day we will see Mrs. Slaten and Nan again. I’m so thankful for the promise of heaven.

Mrs. Slaten as I knew her was a true lady. She was a devoted mom and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and that legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren. I am forever grateful to her for giving me such a loving friend as her daughter, Debbie.

I like to send my Deepest Sympathy out to the family of Mrs. Myra Slaten. Mrs. Slaten will be remembered as a very gentle, loving, and kind person. She always had a smile when she entered the doors. When Nan wasn't able to go home, Mrs. Slaten would always bring her chicken, fries, Sweet Tea and after eating they would sit in the back yard and swing till Nan was Content. She would give her the biggest kiss and hug before leaving. And tell her how much she loved her and would see her later. These are my fun memories of Mrs. Slaten.
