Pamela Meyer McCary

Pamela Meyer McCary, 64, entered the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at a bed-side holy gathering, surrounded by her husband Steve, daughter Annie, son Ben, brother-in-law Mike & Julie McCary, and family friend Mandy Orme Kennedy. Born in Orange Park Florida on August 20, 1950 to Robert E Meyer and Frances Louise Gilley Meyer, Pam was a life-long resident of Chattanooga. She and her husband Steve, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on May 9. Together they loved and enjoyed their children, Ben and Annie. She embraced her role and title as "Mimi" to her 4 grandchildren. Pam loved the Lord Jesus Christ which was evident by her love for others and seen often in her ability to speak truth in kindness, humor and compassion. She was a behind-the-scenes giver of herself to others in very tangible ways.

In 2011, resulting from end-stage idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, Pam was the recipient of a miraculous lung transplant at the world renowned Cleveland Clinic (Ohio). With the daily challenges of lung transplant living, Pam was gracious and appreciative of her family's love and care.

Pam is survived by her husband Steve, son Ben (Carrie), daughter Annie (Rob) Buckley, mother, Louise White, sister Carol (Tom) Kindred, brother, Robert (Tanya) Meyer, grandchildren, Lillian McCary, Elliott McCary, Abbie Buckley and Avery Grace Buckley, as well as her cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, and twin brother, Paul Meyer.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 4 to 8PM at Woodland Park Baptist Church, 6735 Standifer Gap Road. Following a private burial at the National Cemetery, you are invited to Pam's Celebration of Life gathering on Monday, June 1 at 3PM at Woodland Park with Wayne Barber officiating. The family will also receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Pall bearers are her nephews Scott McCary, Jonathan Hartley, and Jase Alexander; son-in-law Rob Buckley; and friends Tony Autry and Ryan Breneman. The family would like to thank the professional Caregivers at Cleveland Clinic, as well as Dr. Benjamin Harnsberger who cared for Pam locally. We would also like to thank the Woodland Park Baptist Church members and staff for their faithful support. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Transplant House of Cleveland, 2007 E. 115th Street Cleveland, OH 44106, which provides housing support for transplant patients experiencing lengthy residential challenges.
