Pat served as a staff coordinator at Memorial Hospital for many years, bringing reliability and thoughtful care to work that supported patients, families, and colleagues alike. Her life of service extended beyond her profession, shaped by a sincere desire to help wherever there was a need.
A long-time member of Ridgedale Baptist, Pat dedicated herself to her church community for many years. She taught a ladies Bible study for over 20 years, and she also loved to sing in the choir. In addition, she volunteered in a hospitality ministry, serving food to patients in the ICU—quietly offering comfort through simple acts of compassion.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Buck Grigsby, Jane Kennelly, Grace Gramling, May White, Annabelle Pogue, Dixie Stewart; and niece, Jody Roberson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Bill Bowers; daughter, Sherre (Chet) Carney, grandchildren, Angie (Luis) Perez, Chris (Stacey) Carney, Keith Carney, Jacob Carney and Kassidy (Ronny) Lanham; great-grandchildren, Tanner Perez, Lindsey Perez, Dylan Carney, Shea Pap and Riley Lanham; great-great grandchild, Savani and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421. A celebration of life will follow at 1 pm in the church with Dr. Doug Plumlee and Dr. Gary Ashley officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East with Ronny Lanham, Greg Raborn, Miles Raborn, Jacob Carney, Keith Carney and Bobby Pap serving as pallbearers. The Harvest Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
