I will always remember that smile that Pat always had.

I think I was in Pats'(Mrs Whitaker) first classroom at East Ridge Jr High back in abt.
1966..?.I remember her genuine, gentle demeanor.I helped her transport a sheet of plywood in her convertible one afternoon. With her scarf and sunglasses she looked like Audrey Hepburn❤️ Lost contact after school and often wondered where and how she was. She obviously had a good life with many memories. I will have my memories also. God bless you all. John Williams class of '70 ERHS..

I had Mrs. Whitaker in Alg1 at East Ridge. I went on to become a math major. She was probably the most graceful teacher I ever had; fluidly, and with such a pleasant smile, navigating obstacles to understanding. Thank you, Mrs. Whitaker, for investing in me. I've tried to "pay it forward" .. spending half a career teaching high school math.

Pat was such a lovely lady, and I always looked up to her like a big sister from afar. I was very good friends with her sister, Sandra, at Eastdale Gammar School and at Central High School. I visited the Hale's home many times and thought highly of their parents, Ruth and Virgil.
May God comfort Colbert, their children and grandchildren in the days to come.

Pat was a brilliant, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile even when she felt uncomfortable. We will greatly miss her spirit and friendship.
